VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER: HORNETS EDGED BY LOYALSOCK (2023-09-23)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Hornets surrendered a lone, first-half goal here Saturday, but the visiting Lancers would make it stand and down Wellsboro 1-0 in non-league girls’ soccer play.
Loyalsock scored midway through the first half and had a 17-4 advantage in shots and had three corner kicks to Wellsboro’s two. Hornet keeper Jadyn Dunlap recorded 15 saves in goal.
The loss is Wellsboro’s third straight and they stand at 2-7 on the season. They’ll return to action Tuesday at North Penn-Mansfield, who the Hornets beat 1-0 two weeks ago.
