NTL GOLF: D'ANGELO & STRANGE EXTEND SEASONS, TIGERS FINISH 7TH AT DISTRICT 4 TEAM TOURNEY (2023-09-27)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportMONTGOMERY — Junior Talon D’Angelo placed third on the leaderboard at the District 4 Class 3A team championships at White Deer Golf Club on Wednesday, leading the Tigers to a 7th-place finish.
Warrior Run won the team title with a four-player aggregate score of 327, while NP-Mansfield scored 363.
D’Angelo shot a 46 and a 40 for an 86 on the day, with seven pars. Golfers in the team championships who hadn’t qualified for the District 4 Individual Championships were able to do so on Wednesday by coming in at an 88 or lower.
Tate Strange also qualified for Districts Wednesday, shooting a 47 and a 41 to just make the cut with an 88, which was good for a tie for 8th-place, and sophomore Andy Hermansen .. who has qualified for Individual Districts with an 84 average on the season .. ended up tied for 10th-place as he shot a 48 and a 41 for a round of 89.
Junior Danny Harman added a round of 100 and senior Cody Hermansen tacked on a non-scoring round of 108.
The Tigers team season comes to a close while Hermansen, D’Angelo and Strange will compete at the District 4 individual championships next week.
