NTL BOYS SOCCER: STETTER HAT TRICK LIFTS NORTH PENN-LIBERTY TO WIN OVER TROY (2023-10-02) Northern Tier West Sports Report LIBERTY — NP-Liberty got a second-half hat trick from Brady Stetter and the Mounties cruised to a 4-1 win over the visiting Trojans in NTL boys soccer action Monday.
Zack Wilcox opened the scoring with a goal off an assist from Aiden Wheeland midway through the first half and the 1-0 lead lasted until the first of Stetter’s three goals in the second half.
Stetter’s scores came at the 52:05 mark on an asset from Tate Strange, with nine minutes left in the match .. again on an assist from Strange .. and with three minutes left off an assist from Wilcox.
Troy scored with a minute left in the match.
The Mounties held a 14-12 advantage in shots-on-goal and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
Mountie keeper Carter Grinnell recorded 11 saves in goal.
NPL (9-6) is scheduled to return to play on Wednesday at Wellsboro.
