NTL TRACK & FIELD: NPM BOYS AND GIRLS COMPETE AT DISTRICT IV MEET, SHEDDEN QUALIFIES FOR STATE MEET IN 3200 (2021-05-22)

WILLIAMSPORT — Distance runner Noah Shedden will be headed to States to represent North Penn-Mansfield after his third-place finish in the 3200 meter run at the District IV meet turned into second-place when the runner-up pulled out of the event for the PIAA meet.

Shedden (10:10.85) was off the qualifying mark for the state meet (9:48.01) but will qualify based on his second-place finish. He also competed in the 1600 meter run (4:46.45), finishing in seventh place.

Daniel Bates (114-10) finished tenth in the discus, and Caiden Alexander finished fourteenth in the triple jump (37-08.25) and eighteenth in the high jump (5-03).

The Tiger boys’ 4x100 meter relay team (48.04), made up of Jackson Brion, Daniel Lawrence, Alexander and Jett Harold, finished fifteenth.

For the girls, Addison Farrer (6:03.20) placed twenty-second in the 1600 meter run, and the 4x100 team (56.58) of Sophia Domenech, Emelia June, Tessa Mitchell and Shaniya Sparrow finished eighteenth, while the 4x400 relay team of Domenech, Ella Farrer, Grace Farrer and Sparrow (4:37.30) finished fifteenth.

The AA PIAA Track & Field Championships will be held on Friday, May 28 in Seth Grove Stadium at Shippensburg University, with Neal’s event, the boys 3200, scheduled to take place at 9:00 a.m.
