NTL VOLLEYBALL: MOUNTIES STAY PERFECT IN LEAGUE PLAY WITH WIN OVER WELLSBORO (2023-10-17)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportLIBERTY — North Penn-Liberty hosted Wellsboro for an NTL-I volleyball match-up Tuesday and the Mounties rolled to a three-set sweep of the Hornets.
NP-Liberty won the three sets 25-9, 25-21 and 25-16.
Ella Swingle finished with16 kills while Saige Lehman had 12, Payton Chapel and Hannah Kendall each had five, Haley Litzelman had three and Reese Barrett had two.
Megan Spohn had 34 assists and Chapel had five, while Riley Smith had nine digs, Lehman had 14, Spohn had 10 and Mckenna Lightner had three.
Litzelman had three aces and a block and Kendall had a block while Spohn added a pair of aces.
For Wellsboro, Paige Logsdon and Olivia Chilson each had two kills while Taylor Main had four assists, Natalie Cleveland had 11 digs and Lexi Urena had eight.
North Penn-Liberty stays perfect in the NTL at 12-0 with the win and is 12-3 overall with two games remaining, starting on Thursday at Large School runner-up Troy (12-7, 6-1 NTL-I).
Wellsboro is 10-8 on the season and will return to action Thursday at Loyalsock.
