LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL: LAWRENCEVILLE SOFTBALL IN FULL SWING AFTER SUCCESSFUL OPENING-DAY CEREMONY (2021-05-26)

The Lawrenceville Cinderella Softball League recently held their opening-day parade and ceremony, recognizing their players, coaches, sponsors, volunteers and special community guests.

Board member Erica Covert welcomed all to the event, including Mayor Bobbie Scott and council members Kathy Helgemo and Mansel O’Dell.

“I see a small community that comes together all because of the love of the game”, Covert relayed to the crowd, “whether it is carpooling the kids to practice or to a game, buying apparel to proudly wear, helping with field maintenance or volunteering in the concession stand - you are all the real heroes and we thank you for being a part of it”.

Players include: Kaegan Short, Savanna Dean, Ayla Flynn, Elyna Booth, Jade Cook, Jasmine Southard, Cassidy Andreason, Addie Schmitt, Bella Chapman, Roslyn Williams, Mikenna Buchanan, Mariella Potter and Sydney Dean.

The players and coaches then joined together to sing the National Anthem and recite the softball prayer, led by Mayor Scott, who officially opened the season with a ceremonial first pitch.
