COUDERSPORT — Cowanesque Valley fell victim to a strong defensive effort by the host Falcons here Thursday and lost 20-6 in both playoff-bound-teams’ regular season finales. 

Junior Fletcher Good went over 100 total yards in the game with 14 yards receiving and 91 yards on 14 carries .. with 80 of those yards coming on three runs .. and QB Graham Hess threw for 35 yards and ran for 66 more on 14 carries, despite suffering four sacks in the game.

Sophomore Kegan Lane had CV’s only score, a late 24-yard run that provided the 20-6 final.

Coudersport opened the scoring early in the second quarter with the first of two TD passes in the game for quarterback Gavyn Ayers. The senior finished with 117 yards rushing and 101 yards passing to lead the Falcons.

After the break, Coudersport tacked on their final two scores in the third quarter, then limited CV to Lane’s score to secure the win.

Defensively, Joel Hultz collected 15 tackles on the night, while Lane had 11 stops, Carsyn Kemp had nine tackles, Graham Hess had five tackles and a fumble recovery and Good had seven tackles and a pick. 

The Indians finish their regular season with a 5-5 record and will be the No. 7 seed in the upcoming District IV 3A playoffs. They’ll travel to No. 2 seed Loyalsock to take on the 6-3 Lancers.
