NTL GIRLS SOCCER: PATTERSON CAREER SAVES MARK HIGHLIGHTS TIGERS' SEASON (2023-11-08)

Northern Tier West Sports Report
MANSFIELD — North Penn-Mansfield suffered through their second straight one-win season in 2023 but did show improvement throughout the lineup and were able to celebrate senior keeper Tierney Patterson for making her 1,000th career save for the Tigers.

Head Coach Maryann Wilcox and the Tigers lost their first 16 games of the season before avoiding the goose egg in the win column by beating Montgomery in their second-to-last match of the year. Sophomore Brooke Wilcox scored four goals in the 5-3 win, while Abby Garverick scored the Tigers other goal.

Patterson collected 334 saves (18.6/G) while playing 1,440 minutes with a 4.44 GAA this season. The senior finished her career with 1,194 saves and 4,843 minutes in goal for the Tigers.

NPM had a pair of one-goal losses this year, both against Wellsboro, 1-0 and 2-1, and had a two-goal loss against Addison to start the season.

Wilcox scored 12 of the Tigers’ 14 goals on the season, with Garverick and freshman Hailie Hodgins each adding a score. Senior Madalyn Morgan had four assists.

Patterson, Morgan and Grace Kreger were the lone seniors for NPM and the Tigers had just one junior in Olivia Likens.

Next season’s junior class will be an experienced group with Wilcox, Garverick, Jocelyn Hinman, Lakyn Messner, Karen Wetzel, Pearl Worthington, Jayden Burton, Lanie Balbian and Kyli Hall.
