NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: NORTH PENN-LIBERTY TOPPED BY REDSKINS (2024-02-01)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportLIBERTY, Pa — North Penn-Liberty hosted Sayre Thursday and the Redskins came away with a season sweep, topping the Mounties 51-40.
Sayre beat the Mounties 70-46 in their first meeting.
Thursday night, the Redskins took a 14-11 lead after one quarter and a 24-18 lead into the break. The Mounties were edged 14-13 in the third and 13-9 in the fourth.
Adynn Wheeland led a balanced Mountie scoring attack with 10 points while Louis Mercantino had nine points, Blake Oakley had seven, Evan McTish and Carter Grinnell each had six points and Luke Kreger had two points.
The Mounties fall to 8-10 overall on the season and to 3-5 in the NTL-II. They’re scheduled to return to action on Tuesday at Williamson.
