NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: HORNETS FALL TO LARGE SCHOOL CHAMPION TROY (2024-02-07)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTROY — Wellsboro couldn’t keep up with the league-leading Lady Trojans here Wednesday as Troy clinched the NTL title with a 61-37 win over the Lady Hornets.
Chloe Brandenburg led Wellsboro with 15 points while Paige Logsdon had 10 and Maddy Mascho, Emily Morris and Emily Richardson each had four points.
Troy took a 12-6 lead after one quarter of play and went into the break up 31-16. Wellsboro cut the deficit to 12 points with an 11-8 third frame before the Trojans pulled away with a 22-10 fourth.
Troy’s Gloria Andrews hit six 3-pointers and had a game-high 21 points in the win.
The Hornets (8-12, 6-10 NTL, 2-7 large school) have one regular season game remaining .. Friday at Wyalusing.
