NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: MOUNTIES EARN SMALL SCHOOL WIN AT NEB (2024-02-08)

LIBERTY — North Penn-Liberty built a double-digit halftime lead over Northeast Bradford and held the Panthers off to earn a 52-45, NTL small school win. 

The Mounties led 18-8 after the first quarter, and built a 13 point lead by the half. 

Luke Kreger and Louis Mercantino had 13 points apiece to lead the Mounties while Blake Oakley added 11 points, Daniel Harman had eight, Adynn Wheeland had five and Evan McTish chipped in with two points. 

Oakley had five points in the opening frame with Kreger and Harman both scoring four as they took a 10-point lead. Mercantino netted five in the second frame to give them the 28-15 halftime advantage.

NEB rallied in the third with 18 points, behind three 3-balls, while Oakley scored his final six points and Liberty tallied 11 in the frame. 

The Panthers held the Mounties to just three field goals in the final quarter, but Kreger went 6-for-6 from the free throw line to ice the game. 

The Mounties (10-10 overall, 7-8 NTL, 5-5 small school) have one regular season game remaining .. Monday at Towanda.
