CANTON — North Penn-Mansfield traveled to Canton for an NTL-II match-up on Friday and fell to the host Lady Warriors, 43-26.

Canton took a 4-3 lead after one quarter before netting 17 second quarter points to overcome NPM’s Keeha Rieppel’s six-point quarter and take a 21-15 lead into the break. 

The Warriors pulled away in the second half .. taking the third quarter 8-4 and outscoring the Lady Tigers 14-7 in the final frame.

Kameron Lightner led Mansfield with 10 points and had eight rebounds, while Rieppel and Ella Swingle each had six points and Elaina Shaw and McKenna Lightner each added two.

Mckenna Lightner added eight boards, three assists and three steals while Swingle had three rebounds and Shaw collected four steals and two rebounds.

The loss leaves the Tigers with a 13-8 overall record on the season, with a 10-6 record in the NTL and a runner-up finish in the small school division at 7-3. They’re scheduled to take on Towanda at home on Monday to wrap up their regular season. 

The Lady Tigers will then take on large school champ Troy in the NTL Showdown next week. In their previous match-up, North Penn-Mansfield suffered a 54-21 loss .to the Lady Trojans.
