WESTFIELD — Karson Dominick scored 31 points and led North Penn-Mansfield to a 70-55 win over Cowanesque Valley in both teams’ final regular season game.

Dominick exploded for 13 first quarter points and the Tigers took a 20-10 lead into the second frame where the senior added six points and NPM edged the Indians 11-9 for a 31-19 lead at the break. 

Mansfield’s biggest quarter came in the third where Dominick (7), Cooper Shaw (7) and Tayton Strange (6) helped the Tigers overcome a 10-point quarter by CV’s Fletcher Good and lead Mansfield to a 53-34 lead going into the final frame. 

Carter Ackley scored 11 points for CV in a 21-17 fourth quarter and Good added four and Kaden Cole hit his second three of the game but Dominick (5), Alex Davis (4) and Brady Stetter (4) limited the damage and the Tigers sealed the win.

Strange and Shaw joined Dominick in double figures with 13 and 10 points while Davis had eight, Stetter had four and Cade Kurzejewski and Kaidyn Choplosky each added two points in the win.

Good led CV with 18 points while Ackley had 13, Cole and Jordan Vargeson each had six, Larsen Swimley had five, Coen Kemp had four and Carsyn Kemp had three points.

North Penn-Mansfield (16-6 overall, 12-4 NTL, 6-4 large school) and Cowanesque Valley (12-10 overall, 9-6 NTL, 7-3 small school) will both compete in the NTL Showdown on Thursday as the runner-ups in the NTL I and II.

The Tigers will travel to small school winner Northeast Bradford while CV will visit large school champ Troy.
