NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD FALLS TO LARGE SCHOOL CHAMPS IN FIRST ROUND OF SHOWDOWN (2024-02-15)

TROY — North Penn-Mansfield took on 19-3 Troy in the first round of the NTL Showdown here Thursday and fell to the large school champs, 57-29.

Kameron Lightner had a double-double in the losing effort, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds while adding four steals for the Lady Tigers.

Troy scored the games first seven points and led 9-4 after a quarter of play before outscoring Mansfield 16-6 in the second quarter to take a 25-10 lead into the break. 

Lightner would score all of Mansfield’s points in a 19-10 Troy third quarter and the Trojans led 44-20 going into the fourth. A 13-9 Trojan advantage in the final frame provided the final.

Ella Swingle had four points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal for the Tigers, while Keeha Rieppel had a 3-pointer and Addison Hill, Claire Dominick and Raegan Watkins-Bourret each had two points. 

North Penn-Mansfield, now 13-10 on the season, will enter the District 4 Class 2A playoffs as the No. 3 seed, earning a home game against No. 6 seed Northumberland Christian.
