The Tigers finished the regular season 16-6 and are 17-7 after a win and a loss in the NTL Showdown. They finished the regular season with four straight wins .. which was preceded by Mansfield’s only losing streak of the year when they lost three straight to Northwest, Troy and Wellsboro.

Warrior Run enters the playoffs at 14-8 on the season. The Defenders started 7-1 before losing four straight and going 7-3 the rest of the way. They score 60 points per game and give up an average of 48.

NP-Mansfield also allows 48 points per game and average just over 55 .. with senior Karson Dominick accounting for nearly half that at 24.7 points per game, including 34 3-pointers.

Juniors Cooper Shaw (10.4 ppg) and Tate Strange (7 ppg) are both capable of big scoring nights as Shaw has had a 19 point game and a pair of 21-point outings and Strange has scored in double-figures six times this season, with a high game of 20. Junior Alex Davis has been a solid contributor since returning from an injury as well, adding nearly 9 points per game in the Tigers’ last four.

Mansfield and Warrior Run have two common opponents this year .. as the Defenders beat Northwest Area 63-50 and the Tigers lost to the Rangers 77-55, and both lost to Hughesville, although the Defenders also beat the Spartans once, 48-45.

The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip-off Thursday at North Penn-Mansfield High School’s Detar Gym. With a win, the Tigers would advance to the semifinals to face the winner between top-seed Loyalsock and No. 8 Hughesville.
