COLLEGE SOFTBALL: COWANESQUE VALLEY'S HAMILTON HEADED TO PENN COLLEGE (2024-03-06)

Northern Tier WEST Sports Report
WESTFIELD, Pa — CV senior standout Logan Hamilton recently announced her decision to attend the Pennsylvania College of Technology and become a member of the PCT Wildcats softball team.

Of her decision to attend Division 3 Penn College, located in Williamsport, Hamilton says, “Penn College checked all my boxes. I visited many colleges with both Radiology and softball and in the end, I compared everything back to PCT. Over the summer I got to spend time on campus for the Health Sciences camp and just felt completely at home. I was able to get to a couple games as well as go to a softball practice early on. I was very impressed with the team as well as Coach Stack. They have been very successful the last few years. The girls were all very welcoming and referred to “when I come to PCT” when we talked, even all the way back then! It’s also an added bonus being close to home!”

Wildcats Head Coach Angie Stackhouse is in her 4th season at the helm and led the Wildcats to a 31-10 record a season ago, as well as a 20-4 conference mark and an ECAC title.

Of her expectations for her freshman season, Hamilton says, “I’m hoping to come in and compete for some catching work early on. I really liked that Coach Stack is very offensive minded and said that the top 9 bats find the field. I’m also super excited to be able to get on the field with Kenzie Tice again as we played travel ball together for a number of seasons in the past. I am very excited for this opportunity!”

Hamilton points to a long list of supporters who have helped her in softball, saying, “There are lots of people that have helped me get to where I am today! I’d like to thank the following for being part of my journey .. Jamie Mascho for helping develop my passion for the game at an early age, Andy Drum and the Sandlot Sports Academy for all of the hitting, catching, and therapy sessions, Erica Matteson for all of the support, mental prep and personal workouts, Coach Mel, Coach Gary and all of my Smash It Sports family for everything, my High School coaches for allowing me to find my groove and continue developing my leadership on the field and most importantly, my parents and brother for all of the sacrifices and support through the years! I don't say enough how much I appreciate everything you have done to help me reach the goal I set when I was 8 years old to play college ball. Go Wildcats!”
