COLLEGE BASEBALL: WELLSBORO GRAD CAMERON BROUGHT LEADING ALFRED ON THE DIAMOND IN FIRST YEAR (2024-03-14)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportALFRED, NY — 2023 All-Tioga County Player of the Year Cameron Brought from Wellsboro has been on a tear this season, leading Alfred in both his and the Saxons’ first year of college baseball.
Brought leads the 1-8 Saxons with a .556 slugging percentage, 6 runs scored and 5 doubles, while his .370 batting average, .452 on-base percentage, 10 base hits and 15 total bases are all second on the team.
Brought had his best outing in a 10-4 loss to Northland on March 3rd in Auburndale, FL, collecting three hits with a double, two RBI and a run scored, and was followed by Brought being honored as the Empire 8 ‘Rookie of the Week’ and as Alfred’s ’Saxon of the Week’.
