Northern Tier WEST Sports Report
TIOGA COUNTY — With the close of the 2023-2024 girls basketball season, Northern Tier West Sports Report would like to recognize our area athletes with the All-Tioga County Girls Basketball Team and individual award winners.

Williamson had a memorable season, winning 19 games .. tied for most ever and as many as the last five seasons combined after the Lady Warriors won six games in each of the last three seasons, none in 2020-21 and one game in 2019-20.

Williamson Head Coach Marisa Allen and the Lady Warriors’ staff are the Coaching Staff of the Year, while senior leader Taylor Rae Jones repeats as the All-Tioga County Girls Basketball ‘Player of the Year’.

Jones scored 20-plus points eight times and hit double-digits in 21 of the Lady Warriors’ 24 games, averaging 15.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4 steals and 2.1 assists per outing while going over 1,000 points in her career.

The Lady Warriors also led the West defensively, allowing just 32 points per game .. giving up 30 or less 11 times and 20 points or less five times. Leading the way for Williamson were junior Olivia Meisner and sophomore Kenna Thomas, the All-Tioga County ‘Co-Defensive Players of the Year’. Meisner blocked 48 shots on the season and had 50 steals while grabbing over seven defensive rebounds per game. The junior added 7.3 points per game and averaged over 10 total rebounds per outing while also handing out 42 assists from the post. Thomas had 55 blocks and 43 steals and added 11.1 points and eight rebounds per game.

Wellsboro junior guard Chloe Brandenburg is the All-Tioga County ‘Offensive Player of the Year’ after scoring 14.7 points per game with 50 threes on the season. She hit a 3-pointer in all but two games, had multiple threes in 15 of the Lady Hornets’ games and had three games with five deep balls. She added 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game for the 8-13 Lady Hornets.
