ALL-TIOGA COUNTY 'FAB 5' GIRL NEWCOMERS OF THE SEASON (2024-03-22)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY — There were some fine performances put forth by a number of young athletes in their first varsity action this past season, recognized here with our ‘Fab 5’ girl ’Newcomers of the Season’.
Wellsboro senior Olivia Chilson is the All-Tioga County ’Newcomer of the Season’ .. going 11-7 for the Hornets’ girls wrestling team in their first year as a varsity sport and winning a District 4 title at 142 pounds.
North Penn-Mansfield freshman starter Elaina Shaw scored 3.6 points per game with 35 rebounds and 33 steals for the 13-11 Lady Tigers.
Wellsboro sophomore swimmer Makenna Robbins earned a District 4 medal with her 4th-place finish in the 100 breast stroke (1:14.65).
NP-Mansfield’s “6th Man”, freshman Claire Dominick, scored 2.5 points per game and had 13 rebounds and 23 steals.
Williamson freshman Maeve Ficks came off the bench for the 19-5 Lady Warriors and averaged 2.4 points per game with 40 rebounds, 17 assists and 26 steals.
