ALL_TIOGA COUNTY 'SUPER 7' MALE ATHLETES OF THE SEASON (2024-03-25)

TIOGA COUNTY — NTWSR presents the All-Tioga County ’Super 7’ male athletes of the season, led by North Penn-Mansfield senior basketball star Karson Dominick. 

The versatile Dominick scored his 24.7 points per game this season in every way possible .. making 37 threes, shooting 72% from the line, drives to the basket, acrobatic finishes, dunks, and pull-up jumpers from anywhere on the floor .. and hit for 20-plus in 21 of the Tigers’ 25 games, had over 30 four times and scored a career-high 41 in a mid-season win over Wyalusing. 

Dominick, a D2 Lock Haven basketball commit, also led the Tigers with 7 rebounds per game .. going over 600 career boards in his final high school game .. and handed out 3 assists per outing .. with over 200 in his 95 varsity game career .. and was Mansfield’s high scorer in every game this season, despite being the center of every opposing team’s defensive plan. 

The remaining members of our ‘Super 7’ male athletes of the winter are: 

North Penn-Liberty junior Brayden Pequignot is the All-Tioga County ‘Wrestler of the Year’ ..  was the runner-up at 121 pounds at the North Sectional tourney, placed 4th at Districts and again at Regionals to qualify for the PIAA Championships in Hershey. He finished the season 33-12 with his final victory coming at States. 

Owen Cummings, Williamson, senior, is on the All-Tioga County Wrestling Team after finishing  32-11 with a Sectional runner up finish at 152 pounds, a 6th-place finish at Districts and just missing out on a trip to States with a 5th-place finish at Regionals.  

Wellsboro senior Hayes Campbell averaged 16.3 points and 8 rebounds per game for the 14-9 Hornets, hitting double-digits in all but three games and going over 20 points six times. The All-Tioga County ‘Defensive Player of the Year’ was the “quarterback” of the West’s best defensive team, collecting seven double-doubles on the year with 39 steals and six blocked shots and grabbing the 500th board of his career.

North Penn-Liberty freshman wrestler Bryce Pequignot is the All-Tioga County wrestling and overall ’Newcomer of the Season’ after going 33-8 in his freshman year with a Sectional title at 107 pounds, a 3rd-place finish at Districts, a runner-up finish at Regionals and an appearance at the PIAA Class 2A Championships.

Williamson senior Kristian Mizdail scored 16.7 points per game with 30 three-pointers .. had games of 28 and 27 … is All-Tioga County First Team.

Wellsboro senior Caden Smith scored is on the All-Tioga County first team after scoring 8.5 points per game as the Hornets’ point guard, with 29 threes, 3.9 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game and had 11 blocks and 27 steals.
