CANTON — Cowanesque Valley took a 4-2 lead in the top of the 6th inning against Canton here Tuesday, but the host Warriors forced extra innings and earned a 5-4 win in the 9th.

Canton retook the lead with a run in the bottom of the 3rd before CV plated a pair of runs .. by Larsen Swimley and Loagan Stickler .. in the 4th inning to take a 3-2 lead that lasted until the 6th. Carter Ackley reached on an error for CV in the 6th and scored on a Simonds single to put the Indians up 4-2, but Canton tied it up in the bottom half of the 6th.

It stayed that way until the ninth when Canton’s Mason Harold led off with a hit and CV reliever Levi Stahli recorded two outs before intentional walking Holden Ward and a single by Hudson Ward loaded the bases.

That set up Bailey Gardner’s first pitch single that scored Cohen Landis to seal the win.
