ROME, PA — Williamson outhit Northeast Bradford in their season opener here Tuesday, but the Panthers used a 3-run 4th inning to edge the Lady Warriors, 3-2.

After three and a half scoreless innings, the Lady Panthers plated three runs in the 4th and Williamson answered with a two-run 5th inning. Pitcher Kenna Thomas shut NEB down the rest of the way but the Warriors were unable to catch up.

Thomas threw a complete game and was tagged with the loss after allowing three earned runs on four base hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts. 

Williamson had six hits in the game as Bailey Smith and Keagan Short each recorded a pair .. with one of Short’s being a double .. and Mikenna Buchanan and Olivia Gee each had a hit. Buchanan had two RBI, driving in Gee and Smith.

The Lady Warriors are scheduled to host Sayre for their home opener on Thursday.
