NTL SOFTBALL: WILLIAMSON ROUTS SAYRE FOR FIRST WIN (2024-03-28)

ELKLAND, PA — Williamson sophomore Kenna Thomas was a single away from hitting for the cycle and freshman Olivia Gee threw a three-inning no-hit shutout as the Lady Warriors rolled over visiting Sayre for their first win of the season, 18-0.

Williamson scored three runs in the first inning and 15 in the second, collecting 10 base hits. Thomas led the way with a double, a triple and a home run, driving in seven runs and scoring three. Makenna Buchanan added a double and a triple, three RBI and two runs scored while Savanna Dean had a pair of base hits, with a double, and hade an RBI and scored twice. 

Gee faced just 11 Sayre batters in the game, allowing no runs or hits while walking two with one strikeout, and added three runs scored for the Warriors from the plate.

Freshman Lexi Smalley, junior Joelie Stephens and sophomore Sydney Dean each had a base hit with Smalley and Stephens each adding an RBI and a run scored while Dean knocked in one run. Kaegan Short had an RBI and scored three times and Bailee Smith scored twice for Williamson in the lopsided win.

The Lady Warriors even their season record at 1-1 with the win and are next scheduled to host Cowanesque Valley for a double-header on Monday.
