COLLEGE BASKETBALL: DOMINICK MAKES LOCK HAVEN CHOICE OFFICIAL (2024-04-20)

Northern Tier WEST Sports Report
MANSFIELD, PA — North Penn-Mansfield’s Karson Dominick recently made his decision to attend and play basketball at Lock Haven University official as the likely two-time All-Stater signed his commitment to the Bald Eagles and mens’ basketball Head Coach, Mike Nestor.

“Coach Nestor is just a great coach, and person”, says Dominick, “I’ve been down to visit three, four times and the staff really made me feel at home. I’m excited to get started.”

Dominick was recruited by a number of college programs after his phenomenal senior season, including several schools that play in the PSAC where LHU had a historic year, winning the East and reaching the PSAC semifinals for the first time in 34 years. That and the school’s academic offerings were major factors in Dominick’s choice.

“Coach has built a heck of a program down there,” says Dominick of Nestor, who will be entering his 13th season at the helm of the Bald Eagles, “and it really worked out that Lock Haven is one of the schools where I can become a phys-ed teacher, which I’ve always wanted.”

As a four-year starter for the Tigers, Dominick finished his career having met many milestones and having received many accolades .. all special to him. But Dominick points to something other than the numbers he reached or awards he received as his biggest take-away from a storied high school career.

“Truly .. just being a part of a great team, with great people .. and making great memories,” says Dominick, who adds, “I’d like to thank all my teammates I’ve had .. for pushing me and making me the best player possible.”

“I want to thank my parents,” Dominick continues, “this doesn’t happen without them always believing in me and their support .. and I’d like to thank all my coaches for their help and support, for staying in the gym for extra work after practices .. and ‘thank you’ to the whole Mansfield community for the constant support and making me feel loved.”

Dominick joins a Bald Eagle team coming off a 21-8 season including a program-best 18-4 mark in the PSAC East, led by sophomore point guard Justin Shoats, the PSAC East Player of the Year.
