NTL SOFTBALL: CV THUMPS CANTON FOR SECOND TIME THIS SEASON (2024-04-23)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWESTFIELD, PA — Cowanesque Valley earned a season sweep of the Lady Warriors with a 16-5 win on Tuesday, helped by a pair of home runs from Logan Hamilton and one from Katie Adams.
Hamilton added a single and drove in six runs total while scoring twice, while Adams also had a single, knocked in two runs and scored two runs. Ruby Sherman had three base hits in the game and had an RBI and three runs scored, while Keyana Thomas collected a pair of hits, with a double, an RBI and two runs.
Maddie Millard and Ashley Woodring had CV’s remaining two hits and Millard had an RBI and a run scored while Woodring scored three times. Zeraya Wilson had an RBI and Keana Mann, Tabitha Piper and Mckenna Cary each scored a run.
Sherman earned the win for CV, going three innings and giving up two earned runs on four hits with six strikeouts. Woodring threw the final two innings and allowed three runs (2 earned) on four hits with one K. Neither CV hurler issued a walk in the game.
Now 11-1 on the season .. with their lone loss coming to 12-0 North Penn-Liberty .. CV is scheduled to return to action Wednesday with a game against Sayre (2-5)*.
