NTL BASEBALL: WILLIAMSON CAN'T KEEP UP WITH PANTHERS IN LOSS (2024-04-23)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION, PA — Williamson allowed eight unanswered runs to end their game with Northeast Bradford here Tuesday, giving the Panthers a 10-1 win over the Warriors.
NEB took a 2-0 lead after the first inning and after a scoreless second, Williamson cut the lead in half when Christian Ling doubled and Jack Nolan drove Ling in with a single in the third frame.
The Panthers scored four runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and their final run in the seventh.
Seth Zimmerman started on the mound for Williamson and was tagged with the loss after going four and a third innings and allowing eight runs (5 earned) on five hits and six walks with three strikeouts. Danny Smith finished, throwing two and two-third innings and giving up two unearned runs on two base hits and a walk with six K’s.
Ling finished with three base hits and a run scored while Nolan had two hits and an RBI and Zimmerman and Smith each had a hit in the loss.
Williamson (1-11) is scheduled to return to play on Friday at Sayre.
