NTL TRACK & FIELD: WILLIAMSON SQUADS COMPETE AT NTL CHAMPIONSHIPS (2024-05-10)

ATHENS, PA — The Williamson Track & Field teams each had a pair of event titles at the NTL Championship on Friday, as the girls finished in 5th place and the boys were 8th.

The Lady Warriors scored 64 points, behind girls’ champ Athens (154), Wellsboro (104) and NEB and Wyalusing (79).

Junior Olivia Meisner won the shot put title (33-10) and sophomore Madalynn Bailey won the long jump (16-6.50) for the Warriors. Bailey also placed 6th (2:41.51) in the 800m and junior Torrina Stratton was 8th (2:43.48), while junior Jade Colwell was 6th in the 200 (28.23) and 4th in the 100 (13.28).

Freshman Aubrey Wells placed 4th in the 100 meter hurdles (17.34), sophomore Anna Lee was 5th in the long jump (15-4), senior Madison Schoonover placed 5th in the triple jump (31-0.50) and 7th in the long jump (15-4) and freshman Clare McKee was 8th in the 3200 (13:11.36).

For the boys, senior Kristian Mizdail won both the 1600 meter run (4:29) and the 3200 (10:03.64) to lead the Warriors to an 8th place finish with 49 points. 

Junior Aiden O’Neil placed 2nd in the pole vault (11-0) with senior Gavin Cloos in 3rd (10-6), junior Jordan Monroe placed 5th in the 400 (53.90) and 8th in the 100 (11.86), sophomore Joshua Teague was 6th in the 300 meter hurdles (46.12) and 7th in the 110 hurdles (20.56), sophomore Jeavon Eick was 6th in the 800 (2:10.24), senior Ean Bump was 7th in the discus (112-3) and senior Skylar Hughes placed 8th in the long jump (18-7.25). 

Both the boys and girls squads will have athletes competing at Thursday’s Day 1 and Saturday’s Day 2 of the District 4 Championships at Williamsport High School.
