COLLEGE BASEBALL: WELLSBORO'S CAMERON BROUGHT NAMED ALL-CONFERENCE FOR ALFRED (2024-05-21)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportALFRED, NY – Wellsboro grad Cameron Brought of the Alfred University baseball team became the first player in program history to earn a spot on the All-Empire 8 Team, receiving Third Team recognition following the Saxons’ inaugural season of competition.
Brought, a first-year designated hitter, led the Saxons offense through their inaugural season. He ranked first on the team in multiple offensive statistics .. including hits (28), doubles (9), total bases (37) and batting average (.283).
Following a successful spring break trip in Florida, Brought was named as the Empire 8 Rookie of the Week.
Brought was named a Saxon Scholar Athlete for the Fall '23 following his successful first year as a member of the Saxon football team, and the mechanical engineering major achieved Dean’s list for the same semester.
