Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportSLIPPERY ROCK, PA — Wellsboro grad Darryn Callahan recently finished up his sophomore season as a member of the Slippery Rock baseball team and started his summer off by leading his Elmira Pioneers to a season-opening win.
Callahan played in 20 games for the 28-18 Rock baseball team during his sophomore season, getting 15 starts and hitting .265 with four doubles, a home run, 10 runs scored and a .345 on-base-percentage.
Friday, Callahan got the start for the Elmira Pioneers in their Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League opener, collecting a double and three walks in the 10-3 win over the Batavia Muckdogs.
