COLLEGE TRACK & FIELD: CV'S CLAIRE MILLER PART OF MESSIAH RECORD-HOLDING 4X100 RELAY TEAM (2024-06-04)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportMECHANICSBURG, PA — Cowanesque Valley alum Claire Miller recently competed for Messiah University at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Track & Field Championships, helping the Falcons to a 6th place finish with an individual medal and a school record as part of the 4x100 meter relay team.
Miller, a senior, and teammates Arwyn Gruenwald, Halle Jennett and Elena Vargas ran a season-best time of 49.11 in the 4x100 prelims and then shattered the school record of 49.03 with a 48.74 in the finals to finish as runner-ups.
In the 100 meter hurdles, Miller earned a non-automatic qualifying spot as the final entrant in the finals with a time of 16.45 in the preliminaries. Miller improved on her placement in the preliminary round by one spot, moving up to 7th and earning two team points with a time of 16.44.
