LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: WELLSBORO MAJORS TOP SOUTHERN TIOGA IN BRACKET PLAY (2024-06-25) Northern Tier West Sports Report WELLSBORO — PA District 15 Little League All-Star action continued around the area Tuesday evening, as the Wellsboro major baseball team earned a tourney win over Southern Tioga, 8-2.
Wellsboro went 2-0 in pool play, beating Allegheny Mountain twice .. 5-2 and 3-2 .. while Southern Tioga went 1-1 in their pool .. beating Canton 8-3 and falling to Troy 3-0. This was Wellsboro’s first bracket-play game, while Southern Tioga had beaten Allegheny Mtn. 11-1 in the first round.
Wellsboro will now travel to Troy on Saturday for a 3 p.m. game, while Southern Tioga drops into the consolation bracket and will play the winner between Canton and Allegheny Mtn., also on Saturday at 3 p.m.
