LITTLE LEAGUE BASEBALL: WELLSBORO 12U (MAJORS) KNOCKED INTO ELIMINATION BRACKET WITH LOSS TO TOWANDA (2024-07-03) Northern Tier West Sports Report WELLSBORO — The Wellsboro majors baseball team suffered their first loss of the post-season here Wednesday evening, falling 5-2 to Towanda in the winners bracket final.
The Hornets will now face Allegheny Mountain in the elimination bracket final .. on Friday at home at 6 p.m. .. for a chance to play for the PA District 15 title.
Allegheny Mountain was a 5-4 winner over RTL, setting up Friday's third meeting between AM and Wellsboro, who came out of the West pool where Wellsboro topped AM twice .. 5-2 and 3-2.
The winner of Friday's game will face Towanda for the 12U championship on Sunday in Sayre.
