TIOGA COUNTY — The All-Tioga County female ‘Super 7’ Athletes of the 2023-24 school Year is highlighted by Cowanesque Valley three-sport standout, junior Ashley Woodring. 

Woodring opened her junior year by leading the Williamson Lady Warriors to a 13-4-1 record and being named the All-Tioga County girls soccer ‘Player of the Year’ after allowing just 16 goals (.89/per), never giving up more than two goals in a match and recording 87 saves with eight shutouts as Williamson’s keeper. 

Woodring nearly averaged a double-double for the CV Lady Indians basketball team in the winter, grabbing 12 rebounds and scoring 9.9 points per game.

In the Spring, Woodring continued her run as one of the top softball players in the area and led Cowanesque Valley to their 2nd straight NTL-II title while hitting .455 with a .532 on-base-percentage, 30 base hits (5-2B, 2 HR), 21 runs scored and 11 walks drawn.

Haley Litzelman, NP-Liberty, sophomore (volleyball, basketball, softball) .. helped NP-Liberty to their 7th straight NTL volleyball title, collecting 69 kills, 96 points, 30 aces, 17 blocks and 33 digs; First Team All-Tioga County basketball, averaging a double-double with 11.9 points and 10.8 rebounds per game, adding 3.2 assists, 2.7 steals and 2.6 blocks per outing; in the spring, helped NPL to their 2nd straight NTL title, batting .305 with a .414 OBP, 22 base hits (6-2B, 3 HR), 28 RBI, 17 runs scored, 10 walks and pitching 31 innings with a .45 ERA and 42 strikeouts.

Paige Logsdon, Wellsboro, junior (volleyball, basketball, softball, T&F) .. while still recovering from an ACL injury, Logsdon played in 37 sets for the Lady Hornets volleyball team, collecting 38 kills and 15 blocks; is poised to become a top-tier basketball player in the league after averaging 6.8 points, 9 rebounds and 2 blocked shots per game as a junior; led a rebuilding Hornets’ softball squad with a .469 BA, .558 OBP, 17 base hits (4-2B, 1-3B, 7 HR), 25 RBI and 16 runs scored while also throwing javelin for the Track & Field team .. finishing 6th at the NTL championships (92-10.00) and 19th at Districts.

TaylorRae Jones, Williamson, senior (volleyball, basketball) .. the All-Tioga County Volleyball ‘Offensive Player of the Year’ recorded 276 kills on the season (750+ career) and added 277 digs, 104 points, 46 aces, 19 assists and eight blocks for the 15-6 Lady Warriors; two-time All-Tioga County girls basketball ‘Player of the Year’ scored 20-plus points eight times and hit double-digits in 21 of the Lady Warriors’ 24 games this season, averaging 15.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4 steals and 2.1 assists per outing while going over 1,000 points in her career.

Piper Hoprich, Wellsboro, freshman (T&F) .. Hoprich is the All-Tioga County Girls Track Athlete of the Year, the Newcomer of the Year and the Sports Reports All-Region female Newcomer of the Spring after bursting onto the NTL, District 4 and State Track & Field scenes as a freshman, placing second in both the 100 meter and 200 meter dashes at the NTL meet, winning a pair of District 4 championships in the 100m and 200m dashes and bringing home a bronze medal in the 200m and a 4th-place finish in the 100m from the State Championships.

Saige Lehman, NP-Liberty, senior (volleyball, softball) .. The Lady Mounties won their 7th-straight NTL-I title by going undefeated in the league for the 7th-straight year, led by Player of the Year Lehman’s 183 kills (482 career), 169 digs (633 career), 121 points (587 career), 27 aces (126 career), four blocks and 10 assists. The senior outside hitter had a high of 18 kills in the Mounties’ 3-2 loss to Central Mountain, had two matches with 16 kills and averaged 3.2 kills per set on the season; the Mounties’ catcher helped the NPL softball team to their 2nd straight NTL title, hit .460 with .550 OBP, 30 base hits, 25 RBI, 26 runs scored and 10 stolen bases.

Logan Hamilton, Cowanesque Valley, senior (tennis, basketball, softball) .. went 5-3 in singles play for the NTL Champion Lady Indians tennis team; returned to basketball after a season away and started in the post for the Indians, scoring 5 points and grabbing 6 rebounds per game; catcher helped CV to their 2nd straight NTL-II softball title and hit .475 with a .557 OBP, 28 base hits (4-2B, 5 HR) and 11 walks;
