TIOGA COUNTY YMCA HOSTING JR. HIGH BOYS BASKETBALL LEAGUE AT MU (2024-07-21) Northern Tier West Sports Report MANSFIELD — The Tioga County YMCA junior high boys basketball league rolled into it’s third week with a number of games being played at Mansfield University’s Decker Gymnasium Sunday afternoon.
Wellsboro went 2-0 on the week, topping North Penn-Mansfield 40-15 and Williamson 48-12.
Williamson went 1-1 as they beat North Penn-Liberty 26-24 in overtime and fell to Wellsboro, while Liberty also lost 42-19 to Troy to go 0-2. Mansfield also went 0-2, with their loss to Wellsboro and to Troy, 34-24.
Overall, the Hornets are 6-0, Cowanesque Valley .. who had the week off .. are 3-1, Troy is 4-2, Mansfield and Williamson are both 2-4 and Liberty is 0-6.
Ruth Hermansen oversees the boys junior high league through the Tioga County YMCA and would like to announce the Y’s 3rd annual junior high girls league will take place in the Fall at the YMCA with teams from Troy and Wellsboro committed to participate.
