NTL GIRLS SOCCER: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD FALLS TO NEB (2024-09-04)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportROME, PA — North Penn-Mansfield fell behind the host Lady Panthers 2-0 at halftime here Wednesday and went on to lose 5-2, despite a pair of second half goals from Brooke Wilcox.
Wilcox cut the NEB lead in half nine minutes into the second half with a goal off an assist from Abaigeal Garverick, but the Panthers scored three minutes later to make it 3-1.
Wilcox got her second score of the game at the 58 minute mark to again close the gap to one, but NEB tacked on a pair of late goals to seal the win.
NEB held a 12-7 advantage in shots-on-goal and had 10 corner kicks to the Lady Tigers’ five.
Keeper Avalon Rew had four saves in net for North Penn-Mansfield.
The Lady Tigers (0-3) are scheduled to visit Athens for a 9:00 a.m. game Saturday.
