NTL GIRLS SOCCER: WILLIAMSON SNAPS 3-GAME SKID WITH WIN OVER WELLSBORO (2024-09-07)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION, PA — Williamson's Maddie Bailey and Anna Lee scored goals for the Lady Warriors in a 2-0 victory over the Wellsboro girls soccer team on Saturday.
Bailey scored the game's first goal with 10:50 remaining in the first half off an assist from Jade Colwell, then assisted on Lee’s goal with 29:56 left to play.
Williamson out shot the Lady Hornets 22-4 and had a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Williamson keeper Ashley Woodring got the clean sheet with three saves while Jadyn Dunlap made 12 saves for Wellsboro.
The win snaps a three-game losing streak for the Warriors, now 2-3 on the season. They’ll return to action on Saturday when they take on Muncy at the NEB Tournament.
The loss drops the Lady Hornets to 1-3. They’re scheduled to travel to NEB on Wednesday to take on the Lady Panthers.
