Northern Tier West Sports Report
ROME, PA — The Williamson girls soccer team split a pair of games at the Northeast Bradford tournament on Saturday, falling to Muncy and beating the host Lady Panthers.

The Warriors gave up a lone goal to Muncy in a 1-0 loss to open the day. Muncy scored in the first half on a corner kick.

The Lady Indians held an 8-6 edge in shots on goal as keeper Ashley Woodring made seven saves in net for the Warriors.

In Game 2, Williamson led 2-0 at the half and got a hat-trick (3 goals) from Anna Lee and goals from Torrie Stratton, Zeraya Wilson and Starr Ordway.

All six of the Warriors’ goals were assisted on .. Maddie Bailey had three, Wilson had two and Ella Churchill had one.

Williamson had 28 shots and Woodring had seven saves .. including one on a Panther penalty kick.

Head Coach Felisha Hackett was impressed with the versatility her smaller-squad displayed in the tournament, despite the unseasonably warm weather.

“It was hot for back-to-back games with only four subs,” said Hackett, “but these girls are able to be put in multiple different positions with success. Players were able to be moved into multiple positions, giving most of them a chance to play up and have shots on goal. They played well .. and improved as the day went on.”

Williamson (3-4) is scheduled to visit North Penn-Mansfield for a game on Tuesday.
