NTL GIRLS SOCCER: TWO SECOND HALF GOALS LIFT WILLIAMSON TO WIN OVER WYALUSING (2024-09-26)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — The Williamson girls soccer team scored two second half goals and shut out the visiting Wyalusing Lady Rams 2-0 to earn their 5th win in their last six matches here Thursday.
Tied 0-0 at the break, Williamson got a goal from Torrie Stratton off an Anna Lee corner kick to take a 1-0 lead. Lee would again assist on a score when Ella Churchill headed in another corner kick from Lee to provide the final.
The Warriors outshot Wyalusing 26-5, with Williamson keeper Ashley Woodring making three saves for the clean sheet.
“The girls were able to finally capitalize on corner kicks,” said head coachoach Felisha Hackett, “They brought it together the way we knew they could in the second half.”
Williamson (7-5) is scheduled to return to play on Tuesday when they host North Penn-Mansfield for their second meeting of the season. The Warriors beat the Lady Tigers 2-0 in their first match-up.
