Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION — North Penn-Liberty avenged two previous losses to Williamson here Saturday, topping the host Warriors 2-1 in the two clubs’ third meeting of the season.
Liberty’s Truman Loudenslager gave the Mounties a 1-0 halftime lead with an unassisted goal in the first half. Williamson’s Aiden O’Neal scored the Warriors’ lone goal in the second half and Tate Strange scored Liberty’s game-winner with less than four minutes remaining to seal the win.
NP-Liberty held a 10-6 advantage in shots while both teams had four corner kicks on the day.
Keeper Deakon Valentine saved six shots on goal for Liberty.
NPL (7-5-1) is scheduled to return to play Monday at Northern Potter, while Williamson (9-3-1) is also scheduled to play Monday, at Campbell-Savona.
