NTL BOYS SOCCER: MOUNTIES EDGE NORTHEAST BRADFORD FOR 10TH WIN (2024-10-04)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportROME, PA — North Penn-Liberty got three goals from Adynn Wheeland and two from Brady Stetter as the Mounties overcame a halftime deficit to edge the host Panthers 5-4 in NTL boys soccer action Friday.
Stetter and Wheeland each had a goal in the first half but NEB took a 3-2 lead into the break.
Stetter opened the second half with a goal and Wheeland completed the hat trick with a pair of scores to hold off the Panthers and get the league win.
NEB had a 21-14 advantage in shots while the Mounties held a 14-9 edge in corner kicks.
Mountie keeper Deakon Valentine recorded 14 saves in net for Liberty.
NP-Liberty improves to 10-5-1 on the season with the win. They have two games remaining in the regular season, starting Tuesday at home with Towanda.
