NTL VOLLEYBALL: WILLIAMSON HOLDS OFF LADY MOUNTIES FOR 3-2 WIN (2024-10-10)

LIBERTY, PA — The Lady Mounties rallied from being down 2-0 to force a fifth set against Williamson Thursday but the visiting Lady Warriors stifled the North Penn-Liberty comeback and earned a 3-2 victory.

Williamson won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-23 before Liberty edged the Warriors 25-23 in the third set and took a convincing 25-11 win to tie the match at two sets apiece. Williamson got the 15-10 win in the deciding set to earn the league win, 3-2. 

Olivia Nolan led Williamson’s balanced attack with nine kills and two blocks while Raegan VanGorden collected 25 assists and added 14 digs and three kills. 

Leah Earle and Abby Gehman each had four kills while Madisen Jones had two. Joelie Stephens had 17 digs for the Warriors while Earle added 15, Sophie Sargent had 11 and Bailey Snyder had eight. Sargent and Jones each had a pair of blocks and Earle led with three aces. 

For North Penn-Liberty, Haley Litzelman had five aces, 16 kills, four blocks and 28 digs while Kameron Lighhtner had 16 kills and 14 digs and Maddy Youmans had 22 assists and 13 digs. 

Claire Dominick had nine kills and 27 digs, Kaylee Graham had five assists, two kills and six digs, Rylie Smith had 18 digs, Addison Weightman had 12 assists and four digs and Kendall Graham had two assists, three kills and a block.

Williamson improves to 10-2 with the win while North Penn-Liberty drops to 8- 6 with the loss. Both clubs are scheduled to return to action Tuesday, with the Mounties visiting Troy and the Warriors hosting Wellsboro.
