NTL GIRLS SOCCER: LADY HORNETS GET WIN, CLEAN SHEET OVER TOWANDA (2024-10-11)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTOWANDA — Wellsboro scored a goal in each half of play and got the clean sheet against the host Lady Knights here Friday, topping Towanda 2-0 for their 3rd win in a row.
The Lady Hornets got a goal from Lily Wagner at the 14:17 mark of the first half off a Kate Bryant assist to lead 1-0 at halftime, and Emily Benjamin took a Luna Moyer pass and scored with less than three minutes left in the match to provide the 2-0 final.
Keeper Jadyn Dunlap got the clean sheet for Wellsboro, saving all 10 shots she faced. The Hornets had seven shots on goal and held a 6-2 advantage in corner kicks over the Knights.
With their third straight win the Lady Hornets stand at 5-7-2 on the season with four games left. They’re scheduled to next face Loyalsock on the road on Saturday.
