HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOCCER: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD EARNS LONE WIN IN SEASON FINALE (2024-10-14)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportBLOOMSBURG, PA — The North Penn-Mansfield girls soccer team earned their first win of the season in their final game on Monday, topping CMVT 3-2.
Mansfield went up 1-0 when Brooke Wilcox scored two and a half minutes into the game off an assist from Karen Wetzel and took a 2-0 lead after CMVT knocked in an own goal off an Olivia Likens corner kick.
CMVT cut the lead in half with a goal before the break. Wilcox scored on a penalty kick midway through the second half and the Tigers held the Lady Rams to one more goal to seal the 3-2 win.
NP-Mansfield had a 10-6 advantage in shots on goal and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
Keeper Avalon Rew recorded four saves in net for Mansfield.
NPM finishes the 2024 season with a record of 1-16-1.
