HIGH SCHOOL BOYS SOCCER: WELLSBORO ENDS REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS TO LOYALSOCK (2024-10-15)

Northern Tier WEST Sports Report
LOYALSOCK — Wellsboro lost their second straight game to end their regular season, falling 4-0  to Loyalsock (9-5-3) in boys soccer play Tuesday.

The Hornets had an 11-4 advantage in shots and a 16-4 edge in corner kicks.

“This was a tough pill to swallow,” said Head Coach Todd Fitch, “We more than doubled Loyalsock’s shots on goal and had significantly more corner kicks. But at the end of the game all that really matters is that they were 4-for-4 with their opportunities. The postseason starts in a week. We better figure things out or it’s going to be much shorter than we prepared for.”

The three-time, back-to-back NTL champs finish the regular season 14-4 overall, with a 12-0 league mark. The Hornets are currently the 5th seed in what should be an 11-team field for the Class 2A playoffs.
