Northern Tier WEST Sports Report
WELLSBORO — Williamson scored a goal in each half and keeper Ashley Woodring got the clean sheet as the Lady Warriors downed host Wellsboro 2-0 in girls soccer action Tuesday.

Maddy Bailey broke a 0-0 tie with a goal with six minutes left in the first half. Addy Lanzo assisted on Bailey’s goal and the Warriors took a 1-0 lead into the break.

Olivia Meisner added Williamson’s second goal with eight minutes left in the second half to provide the final.

Williamson had an 18-4 advantage in shots on goal and the teams each had three corner kicks. Woodring stopped all four shots she faced in goal while Wellsboro keeper Annie Gehman had 16 saves.

“The girls stepped it up tonight,” said Williamson Head Coach Felisha Hackett, “holding possession most of the game. Our defense held the back field .. only giving our keeper four saves for the night.”

The Warriors, now 11-5 on the season, have two regular season games left, starting Wednesday at Wyalusing (10-5-2).
