HIGH SCHOOL GOLF: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD'S HERMANSEN AND STRANGE COMPLETE DAY 1 ROUNDS AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (2024-10-21) Northern Tier WEST Sports Report STATE COLLEGE, PA — North Penn-Mansfield duo Andy Hermansen and Tate Strange competed on Monday at Day 1 of the PIAA Class 2A Championships, held at Penn State’s Blue Course.
Hermansen, a junior who is making his second appearance at the State tourney, shot a 40 on the front 9 and a 47 on the back for a +15 round of 87, good for 62nd place.
Strange, a senior, is making his first appearance at the PIAA Championship and shot a front-nine 43 and a 45 on the back for his 16-over 88, leaving him in a three-way tie for 63rd place.
Second round play continues Tuesday, again at Penn State’s Blue Course.
