NTL GOLF: ANDY HERMANSEN & TATE STRANGE REPRESENT NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS (2024-10-22)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportSTATE COLLEGE, PA — North Penn-Mansfield golfers Andy Hermansen and Tate Strange completed their second rounds of play at the State Championships Tuesday at Penn State University’s Blue Course.
Hermansen shot a 77 on Tuesday and finished tied for 55th with a two day total of 164 after his opening round 87. The junior had two birdies on Tuesday, including on the par-5 12th hole, where Hermansen carded an eight at on Monday.
Hermansen had nine pars in his Tuesday round and shot a 39 on the front nine and a 38 on the back, improving on his 40 and 47 from Monday’s round.
Strange followed up his first round 88 with an 86 on Tuesday for a two day total of 174, good for a tie for 66th place in the State. The senior didn’t have any birdies in his second round but collected 10 pars, including on the par-3 14th hole where he’d gotten a seven on Monday and on the 17th where he had a six at in his first round.
The State title-winning score was a -6 while the top-20 earned medals and the cutoff was a 6-over.
