NTL VOLLEYBALL: WILLIAMSON TOPS NP-LIBERTY IN FIRST ROUND OF DISTRICT IV PLAYOFFS (2024-10-26)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA JUNCTION, PA — Fourth-seeded Williamson earned a berth in the District IV Class 2A semifinals with a 3-1 win over No. 5 seed North Penn-Liberty here Saturday morning.
The Lady Warriors won the first set 25-17 before the Mounties rallied for a 27-25 to tie the match at one all. Williamson closed out the match with 25-20 and 25-18 wins in the next two sets.
Abby Gehman had 14 kills and Leah Earle added 12, while Sophie Sargent had six of Williamson’s 16 blocks in the match. Earle added 11 service points with four aces and 10 digs and Sargent had five kills, seven digs and seven points.
Raegan VanGorden finished with 40 assists, 22 digs, four kills and six points and Olivia Nolan added six kills and five blocks.
Joelie Stephens had 13 digs, five assists, two digs and 11 points and Madisen Jones had four kills, eight points with two aces, three blocks and three digs.
Williamson, now 13-4 on the season, will advance to the semifinals of the 2A playoffs and face top-seeded Troy (18-2). The two faced in the opening match of the season with the Lady Warriors topping the Trojans 3-0.
