NTWSR PRESENTS THE LAUREL HEALTH 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (October 27, 2024)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportTIOGA COUNTY, PA — This week's Laurel Health 'Athletes of the Week' are Wellsboro cross country runner Lauren Kosek and North Penn-Mansfield QB Cooper Shaw.
Kosek, a sophomore, brought home second place in the District IV Class 2A championship race with a time of 18:21.2, just behind PIAA champion Baylee Espinosa from Lewisburg (18:17.2).
Shaw led the Panthers to a 28-27 win over Wellsboro in the annual Morton F. Jones Trophy game, totaling 272 yards (117 passing, 155 rushing) and accounting for all four Mansfield touchdowns (3 rushing, 1 passing). The senior also had an interception and seven tackles on defense.
