NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: WELLSBORO CAN'T KEEP UP WITH NORTHEAST BRADFORD (2024-12-13)
Northern Tier WEST Sports ReportWELLSBORO — It took Wellsboro a half of play to find their offense against Northeast Bradford here Friday night, but the hole was too deep to dig out from and the Lady Hornets fell 54-43 to the visiting Lady Panthers.
NEB took a 13-5 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 30-12 at the break.
The Hornets outscored NEB 31-24 in the second half (16-14 and 15-10) but it wouldn’t be enough to catch the Panthers.
Chloe Brandenburg led Wellsboro with 19 points .. 14 in the second half .. while Teagan Novinger had 14 points .. 9 in the third and fourth quarters .. and Paige Logsdon added 8 points. Ady Frantz rounded out Wellsboro’s scoring with 2 points.
The Lady Hornets (1-2) are scheduled to return to play next Wednesday at Sayre.
